Resources for the Theatre Community during a Pandemic and National Uprising

Happy Tuesday! Today’s blog is going to be a bit different then what I normally post. I wanted to share some resources specially related to theatre community for both the pandemic and black lives matter. You can also find more resources in the bio of my Instagram here. I hope these FREE resources are helpful to you and that you can share these resources with you friends and family!

  1. Write a Letter your local Senators to extend Pandemic Unemployment Compensation

With theatres across the country and world being closed for the foreseeable future… the theatre community still needs our help. To learn more about how to write your local senators and tell them to extend pandemic unemployment compensation. This only takes a few minutes. The website generates a letter prewritten for you! You do have the option to write in your own letter or add to the prewritten one, if that is what your prefer

2. Take the #BwayForBLM Public Accountability Pledge

The Broadway Advocacy Coalition is a wonderful resources when it comes to Black Lives Matter and the Theatre Community! You can sign the pledge. The BAC website also has TONS of wonderful resources. You can check out the BAC website here. The BAC Instagram also has more wonderful resources as well, which you can find here. I highly recommend you check the Broadway Advocacy Coalition.

3. Broadway for Racial Justice

Broadway for Racial Justice is another wonderful resource. They have services listed on their websites that will start September 1st, 2020. There are ways to become allied with BFRJ. You can also find out how to volunteer with BFRJ! You can find there website here. The Broadway for Racial Justice instagram, also has some lovely resources. You can the BFRJ Instagram here.

I hope that you enjoy and use the resources that I have listed here. I know that these are only a few resources. I feel that these are valuable. I am continuing to research and educate myself everyday. If you find any resources that you would like me to share with the Broadway Babes community. Feel free to message me on Instagram or email me!

Until Next Time,

Marisa
